Ralph K. Schronk, 80, of Hillsboro died Monday, March 8, 2010, at his residence.

He was born February 19, 1930 in Mertens the son of Luther and Mary (Toliver) Schronk. He lived in Hill County all of his life, growing up in Bynum and attending school there. On May 29, 1948 he married Odessa Duke and they have lived in the Bynum area since that time.

For a number of years, he taught Sunday School at the church in Bynum. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Woodmen of The World Lodge, Farm Bureau, and served on the Farmers Home Administration Board for many years.

Ralph's first love was his family, then came farming, hunting, and fishing. He was a gentleman's gentleman and was a good steward of the land and a conservationist.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Wayne Schronk.

Survivors include his wife, Odessa Schronk of Hillsboro; three sons, Sam Schronk of Hillsboro, Wendell E. Schronk and wife, Debbie Dreyfus Schronk, of San Antonio, and Donald J. Schronk and wife, Sabre, of Bynum; sister, Patsy Cooper and husband, Sam, of Combine; five grandchildren, Wendy Foltz and husband, Trent, of Houston, Chris Schronk and wife, Tammy, of Round Rock, Mindy Don Hoyle and husband, John, of Wall, Mary Joe Schronk of College Station, and Jonathan Schronk of McKinney; four great-grandsons, Mason Schronk, Tyler Schronk, Landon Foltz, and Carter Foltz; and three lovely cats, Zipper, Blackie, and Rowdy Joe
